When you count Teaching Artists, Special Education Teachers, General Education Teachers, Paraprofessionals, and more, there may be quite a few adults present in Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classrooms and other inclusion settings. What kind of inclusive, vibrant arts learning is possible when those adults collaborate in creative and meaningful ways? Let’s find out!
This 2-hour workshop invites the voices and perspectives of classroom teachers and paraprofessionals into the room as we explore the GIVE: Growing Inclusivity for Vibrant Engagement website. By sharing experiences of successful–and challenging–classroom collaborations, we’ll start from a place of empathy, shared understanding, and excitement for what’s possible. Then, we’ll explore resources created by and for Teaching Artists that are designed to support you in understanding the various roles within an ICT classroom, building relationships and co-creating goals with your classroom partners, and utilizing a range of co-teaching models.
