• Cohort PD Sessions: Mentees in the program are expected to attend at least 6 of the 8 scheduled sessions (Thursdays at 6pm; 1-2 hours; mix of in-person and virtual):

CAAMP will have the following components:

• Field Hours Assignments: Participants will complete two field hours assignments during the program (totaling approximately 2-4 hours of time total). 
• 1:1 Mentorship: Each participant will be partnered with a mentor to meet virtually or in-person at least once a month (minimum of 7 times total).
• Cohort-Only PD Programs: Participants will attend monthly professional development sessions curated specifically for the cohort on topics like understanding and crafting budgets, adapting to workplace culture, networking best practices, and other nuts and bolts skills. These sessions may be virtual or in-person. Participants will be expected to attend 6 of 8 PD sessions.
• Public PD Programs: Participants will attend two public workshops hosted by the Roundtable during the program period. These events will be free and open to all, regardless of acceptance into the program. Program participants will also have the opportunity to attend the 2026 Day of Learning (November 11, 2026) and the 2027 Face to Face Conference (April 28-29, 2027) for free.

Eligible applicants must:

• Currently be working in an administrative capacity in the arts and culture field in NYC
  • Eligible work experience may include contract-based, part-time, and/or full-time employment
  • PLEASE NOTE: This grant is only available to individuals. Organizations are not eligible to apply.
• Have at least one year but no more than five years of work experience in the arts and culture field
• Be a current resident of New York City (individuals in all boroughs are eligible and encouraged to apply)
• NOT be a current staff member or board member of the NYC Arts in Education Roundtable
• NOT be a current participant in the NYS Teaching Artist Mentorship Program

If awarded, you must be able to provide:

• W-9 with social security number (SSN), employer identification number (EIN), or an individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN)
• Bank Account Number and Routing Number

A panel of 7 arts education practitioners will review applications using the following criteria (in no particular order):

• Demonstrated experience and interest working in an administrative capacity in the arts and culture field
• Desire to take the next step in one’s career
• Clarity of goals for the program, the “why” of why they’re interested in this specific opportunity
• Alignment between expressed needs and program structure and offerings

We seek to prioritize a cohort that represents the diversity of our NYC community, ensuring the cohort includes participants from a variety of experiences, art forms, and backgrounds.

Grant recipients will be awarded funding in two installments pending their contract signature and submission of a completed W9 form and relevant banking information.

This program is meant to support early career administrators working in NYC’s arts and culture sector. This may include (but is not limited to) freelance, nonprofit, and for-profit occupations in:

• Artistic Programming
• Communications & Marketing
• Curatorial & Exhibitions
• Development & Fundraising
• Diversity, Equity, Access, and Inclusion
• Education & Community Engagement
• Operations & Finance
• Production Management

Examples of disciplines in the arts and culture sector may include the following:

• Cultural Arts
• Dance
• Theatre
• Media Arts (Film, Video, Animation, Podcasting) 
• Music

Eligible applicants for this program will have 1-5 years of experience in an administrative capacity in an arts and culture work environment, and will currently be working in that capacity. Any contract, part-time, or full-time work experience in an administrative role is eligible. Volunteer or unpaid work experience in this capacity is also eligible.

If you are a Teaching Artist but are also currently working in an administrative capacity in the arts and culture field, you are eligible to apply to this program (pending alignment with other eligibility criteria listed above).

Eligible applicants will have a minimum of one year of administrative experience, and no more than five years. This can be consecutive or cumulative, depending on your work history. We’d like to see this experience outlined in the resume submitted with your application. Competitive applications will clearly demonstrate relevant experience.

No, this opportunity is limited to applicants who both work and live within the five boroughs of New York City. 

Applicants must be over the age of 18. There is no upper age limit for applicants.

This program will be hybrid, with required attendance at both virtual and in-person events.
