CEI ARTS EDUCATION presents student-centered, hands-on visual art, music, and creative movement programs that directly teach academic content, strengthen social emotional learning (SEL) skills, and align with NYS Standards and NYC Arts Blueprint. With a team of arts educators and teaching artists with decades of experience, CEI ARTS EDUCATION offers a wide range of programs for all K-12 schools that serve STUDENTS (arts residency programs), TEACHERS (professional development workshops), and PARENTS (educational arts resources and activities). Programs are customized to the specific needs of each school and serve all student populations.

Job Position Summary

Overview:  CEI Arts Education is looking for Visual Art Teaching Artists for work in the 2021-22 school year. 

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for teaching artists with experience teaching visual art projects to K-12 students, parents and teachers. Candidates should have experience teaching a wide range of visual art projects including some of the following — murals, pop-up books, puppets, graphic novels, stop-motion animation, photography, painting, drawing, etc. — and be willing to travel within NYC’s five boroughs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years experience working as a teaching artist
  • BA or MA
  • Experience working with NYC Public Schools
  • Experience teaching a group of students without a co-teacher
  • Experience creating and teaching arts-integrated lessons that teach academic content
  • Fingerprinted with NYCDOE and in compliance with NYCDOE health guidelines
  • Proficient in all Google Suite applications (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills
