TEACHING ARTIST DUTIES:

• Execute goals, expectations, and requirements laid out in your schedule and curriculum
• Work collaboratively in and out of class with your co-teacher to plan active, engaging lessons based on the TADA! curriculum provided
• Provide excellent classroom management and support alongside your co-teacher
• Select and facilitate all theater activities and warm-ups
• Teach students a set of age-appropriate musical theater skills through daily physical and vocal warm-ups
• Select and teach vocals and choreography to age-appropriate material from Broadway or the TADA! canon
• Guide, support, and prepare students throughout the program for a final sharing or performance
• Depending on curriculum, guide and facilitate students through the co-creation process that culminates in the performance of an original mini-musical
• Work collaboratively with the TADA! Education department staff through the duration of the program (meet deadlines, execute administrative responsibilities, complete lesson reports, attend required meetings, etc)
• Provide supplemental materials for students (lyric sheets, recordings, videos, etc.)
• Various other duties depending on the program, school, or requirements

MUSIC DIRECTORS:

• Send the following materials to Katy Knowles, Director of Education at education@tadatheater.com by Monday, November 30th
  • Resume
  • Cover letter OR 2-3 minute video-recorded statement of interest (introducing yourself and sharing your arts education, teaching artist, and musical theater experiences)
  • Complete application
  • Link to a google folder or YouTube channel with the following videos:
    • Create a video that demonstrates 3 different vocal warm-ups you feel would be appropriate and successful for ages 4-6 that focus on these skills:
      • Warm-up #1: Dynamics (1 for ages 4-6)
      • Warm-up #2: Diction (1 for ages 4-6)
      • Warm-up #3: Emotions/Character Choices (1 for ages 4-6)
    • Share a song from the Broadway, movie musical, or Disney canon that you would choose to teach a group of students ages 5-7. Talk us through why you chose the song for this
      particular age group, and then play a 1-minute piano piece (melody and accompaniment).
    • Please note: We want to see you demonstrating the activities and playing the piece, but the purpose of the video is to show your understanding of what is developmentally appropriate for each age group. No in-class or performance recordings, please.
