Powerhouse Arts is a not-for-profit organization committed to creative expression. Housed in a purpose-built facility in Brooklyn, the organization hosts an extended network of arts and fabrication professionals and educators who work together to co-create and share artistic practices vital to the wellbeing of artists and the communities to which they belong. Powerhouse envisions a society in which creative expression is celebrated and supported as central to personal and civic development.

Job Position Summary

Powerhouse Arts’ educational programs will transmit visual art-making skills and techniques to individuals at all stages of their artistic development. These will range from beginner level to advanced and include one-off workshops and multi-session classes. These programs will pilot for adults this summer (July-August, 2025).

We are seeking teaching staff who are artists with a passion for sharing their craft with others and who are committed to creating dynamic learning spaces at Powerhouse Arts and in the community.

We are accepting proposals for classes and workshops across visual arts mediums until April 18th for the summer session, though we will be accepting applications on a rolling basis for future consideration. Teaching staff will be compensated at a rate of $100 per teaching hour.
