Job Position Summary
TADA! seeks two Teaching Assistants to support our musical theater summer camps in the following areas:
- Support TADA! Teaching Artists (director/ choreographer and musical director) and camp activities as a part of TADA!’s team-taught class model.
- Encourage active participation in camp activities (mirroring choreography, singing with students, modeling cues, leading small group work)
- Support a safe, brave, and positive learning environment
- Managing lunch/bathroom/water breaks
- Lead warm-ups and theater activities at various times during the camp day
- Provide administrative support for TADA! Education staff (i.e. assisting with student check-in/ check-out, communicating with TAs and Ed staff for daily reports, communicating with parents regarding general camp questions and TADA!’s overall philosophy, etc.)
- Clean & disinfect camp spaces before and after camp
Roles & Responsibilities
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN A TEACHING ASSISTANT?
COMMITMENT:
You must be available Monday-Friday, 8AM – 5:30PM (with three 30 minute un-paid breaks), July 10 – August 25th.
- Mandatory Training: July 6th & 7th 10AM – 6PM
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Align with our mission, vision, and values
- Committed and passionate about musical theater and arts education
- Experience and/or interest in working with youth/children (summer programs are offered to students ages 4-12)
- A commitment and deep interest in diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of TADA!’s programming and initiatives
- Enjoy working with others—teaching assistants need to interact successfully with a wide range of personalities including staff, students, artists, volunteers, board members, donors and the general public; on the phone and in person.
- Arrive on-time and commit to a consistent schedule
- Multilingual and/or experience working with ENL, SWD, and neurodiverse learners is a plus!
- CPR certification a plus
- Fully Vaccinated for COVID-19
- Position contingent on a clear background check
