Salary: $4,500-5,000 for the summer. Additional Travel Compensation. All meals and semi-private/private housing (outside of room with children) is included.

Spend the summer having fun in the beautiful mountains of northeastern US! Camp Kingswood is a Jewish co-ed Sleepaway Camp, located in a beautiful area known for summer camps and recreational facilitates. The camp runs two productions over the course of the summer during theatre clubs and elective periods, as well as runs theater games on a rotating activity schedule. An ideal staff member is able to bring creative pieces into the other elements of camp and offer a wide variety of other themes and activities, in addition to directing the play. A strong international staff dynamic and a positive camp culture make this a great place to work!

Job Position Summary

The Performing Arts director directs the productions, curates programming for the performing arts department and evening activities, and supervises two performing arts staff who run the daytime activity periods. This job requires a full immersion into camp life. You will be asked to commit for up to 8 weeks any time from early June to mid-August.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Teach theater one to four hours daily as part of selective and daily programming for children spanning in age from 3-16.
  • Direct and produce shows during the summer.
  • Supervise and collaborate positively with music, art, and dance specialists.
  • Assist with creative input and production in evening activities, specialty days, and clubs.
