About Our Organization

The Robert Ryman Catalogue Raisonné is collecting information on all the artist’s paintings, drawings, and prints for future publication. The catalogue is being compiled with the full cooperation of the artist’s Estate, under the auspices of The Greenwich Collection, a non-profit organization established by Robert Ryman.

Job Position Summary

The Project Associate is responsible for operations related to the collection, organization, and maintenance of digital and physical materials. The associate will work independently and in collaboration with the team to conduct research and all other tasks required to bring the catalogue to publication.

Roles & Responsibilities

Tasks:

  • Organize, catalogue, and maintain physical and digital media
  • Conduct and collect relevant research
  • Catalogue and fact-check artwork records, including exhibition and literature history

Skills:

  • Experience with digitization of material
  • Strong interest in archival research; previous research experience required
  • Excellent editorial and writing skills
  • Visual acuity, familiarity with artworks, their materials, and processes
  • Catalogue Raisonné experience not required, but knowledge of post-1945 art is essential
  • Knowledge and working proficiency of Adobe Creative Suite platforms, including Photoshop, Acrobat, and Bridge
  • Additional languages, especially German, a plus
  • Previous experience with Claris Filemaker a plus

Position is long-term, three days each week (c. 24 hours), with the possibility of increasing to full-time; in-person with some off-site at libraries; office is located in West Village. Compensation at the negotiated hourly rate.
