Job Position Summary

CO/LAB Theater Group seeks a Program Manager. This role focuses on managing CO/LAB’s weekly classes and one-off workshops (CO/LAB:core), engaging with CO/LAB actors with developmental disabilities and their caregiving teams, developing the CO/LAB:leaders program, and building community in and around the organization. This team member would ideally begin work with CO/LAB the week of June 20th.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THIS JOB:

  • The position reports to the Director of Programs.
  • This position is full-time and requires 40 hours per week.
  • This position will be on-call remotely during weekends and weeknights. This will be reflected in their weekly schedule. The specific schedule will be mutually agreed upon between supervisor and employee.
  • The position will receive an annual salary in the range of $52,000 – $57,000.
  • This position will receive health benefits with partial employer contribution.
  • CO/LAB is requiring all staff to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
  • While some in-person office hours and/or meetings will be required, CO/LAB is proud to offer employees a flexible schedule and remote work opportunities. A specific schedule will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor

Roles & Responsibilities

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN JUMP ON BOARD AND:

  • Manage CO/LAB:core (CO/LAB’s “on-site” weekly classes and one-off workshops):
    • Execute and adjust registration processes, lead orientations, and track participant onboarding paperwork
    • Communicate with participants and their care teams regarding schedules, attendance, monthly updates and announcements
    • Spearhead four annual productions and showcases inclusive of managing budgets, supplies, and schedules.
    • Manage & organize classroom budgets ○ Coordinate and collaborate with outside contractors including composers, accompanists, and guest artists
    • Schedule Supporting Artists (in-classroom volunteers)
    • Collaborate on curriculum plans with Director of Programs and Teaching Artists
  • Build Community:
    • Plan and coordinate a Student Matinee program inclusive of creating and maintaining partnerships with NYC schools.
    • Create & spearhead CO/LAB Encore (a theatrical partnership program)
    • Seek out and coordinate participation in fairs, conferences, and performances to promote programs.
    • Plan and execute internal community events
  • Manage CO/LAB:leaders (CO/LAB’s program where experienced participants are trained and work as leaders in the classroom, office, and community. They are compensated for their time in the program.)
    • Develop an annual training plan
    • Support leaders in shifts through regular calls and note-taking
    • Coordinate and schedule leader shifts
    • Manage program development and recruitment efforts.
    • Track payments and program budget.

  • I am comfortable and familiar with working in the disability industry because I have personal and/or professional experience working with folks with developmental disabilities and/or neurodiversities.
  • I have exceptional communication skills and can adjust my approach and communication method for various audiences.
  • I am organized and detail oriented. I have the ability to work on several projects at once, prioritize tasks, and delegate assignments.
  • I am comfortable managing budgets and tracking expenses in real time.
  • I love to collaborate and welcome creative ideas from team members.
  • I am self-driven, and a critical thinker.
  • I have a network of artists that I’d be excited to share with the CO/LAB community.
