Job Position Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and skilled instrumental music teachers to provide one-on-one private lessons in an after-school setting. This is an excellent opportunity for musicians who enjoy teaching and are looking for a flexible, part-time schedule.
Our After-School Instrumental Program welcomes students in Kindergarten through 12th grade with beginning, intermediate, or advanced abilities.
Teachers set their own weekly availability, and student assignments are made based on both teacher availability and student registration demand.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide engaging, individualized private instrumental lessons for students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and program staff regarding student progress and scheduling.
- Maintain accurate attendance and lesson records.
- Prepare students for the spring recital.
- Arrive on time and maintain a consistent teaching schedule.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in teaching one or more musical instruments. Flute and clarinet preferred.
- Previous teaching experience is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with program staff.
- Passion for music education and helping students develop their musical abilities.
- Eligibility to pass any required background checks and complete required training.
Schedule
- Teachers choose the days and times they are available to teach.
- Final teaching schedules are determined based on teacher availability and student registration demand.
- Lessons can be scheduled between 3:00 and 6:30 p.m.
