About Our Organization
Together in Dance is a New York City nonprofit organization that provides dance and musical theater residency programming to New York City public schools and cultural institutions. Through Dance and Musical Theater, Together in Dance (TID) empowers individuals to use their creativity and work collaboratively to connect to the world around them. TID’s vision is that each individual who works with the organization will carry the experience of collaborating in the performing arts into their future and out to the world.
About the Team
Together in Dance is a small administrative team: one full-time Executive Director and one part-time Administrative Coordinator. This two person team coordinates a staff of 15 Teaching Artists. This small non-profit makes a huge impact, reaching roughly 4,000 public school students and senior citizens annually.
Job Position Summary
- We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible with an immediate start date.
- This is a temporary, part-time position until October 28, 2022, with the possibility of extending.
- Position is fully remote with occasional in-person or virtual meetings.
- Working hours are flexible but must occur between Monday and Friday 9-5.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for:
- Invoicing and tracking payments from the Department of Education and other partners
- Coordinating with Teaching Artistsfor administrative paperwork (tax documentation, paystubs, teaching artist reports, etc.)
- Processing all charitable donations and updating the donor databases
- Updating and maintaining website on Squarespace and generating eblasts on Constant Contact
- Answering general inquiries via email as well as liaising with schools and donors
- Inputting monthly payroll and liaising with bookkeeper and accountant to create monthly financial reports.
- Tracking funds through the organization’s online bank account
- Other basic administrative tasks
About you
- A passion for the arts and the personal and communal impact the arts can have
- Commitment to an equitable and inclusive community
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously
- Proficiency in G Suite
- Equivalent of 1 year working in arts administration, education administration, or equivalent administrative experience in a different type of setting
- Open and collaborative
Preferred but not required
- Experiencing working with the NYC Department of Education
- Experience in web design, specifically Squarespace
- Social media experience
- Basic photo editing skills
