The New York City Arts in Education Roundtable is a service organization and a community of arts education practitioners that shares information, provides professional development, and communicates with the public to promote our work in schools and beyond. The Roundtable produces a major annual conference, Face to Face; monthly professional development programs; a destination website; and other activities, in addition to ongoing advocacy and communications efforts to improve and advance the state of arts education. 

The Mentorship Coordinator is a new Part-Time position working remotely to support the NYC Arts in Education Roundtable’s new program “The New York State Teaching Artist Mentorship Program”. The position is open until filled, but preference will be given to those candidates who apply on or before Monday, November 8, 2021. This role will be integral to helping the Roundtable launch this two-year pilot program by coordinating scheduling, communications, as well as serve as the staff point person for all mentors and mentees involved.

• Attend and support all Mentorship-related meetings with staff and participants
• Meet with Executive Director weekly to discuss project updates and next steps
• Liaise and oversee communications between mentees, mentors, and staff
• Collaborate with Executive Director to maintain and track mentee and mentor honorarium payments
• Manage mentee application panel review process to be conducted via Submittable
• Communicate with participants to ensure that all accessibility needs are honored during the program
• Support with mentor outreach and selection process
• Collaborate with Roundtable staff to ensure participants are registered for virtual professional development offerings
• Coordinate scheduling of first mentee/mentor meetings and other program-related meetings
• Manage pre- and post-session assessment to support learning goals associated with the program
• Schedule and conduct post-program exit interviews with mentors to understand their experience and how the program could be improved
• Support with ideas for mentors and teaching artist professional development sessions
• Collaborate with Roundtable staff to ensure the mentorship reflects the mission and values of the Roundtable
• Undertake other reasonable tasks not specifically described herein in order to ensure the efficient, smooth functioning of all aspects of the Mentorship program
