Job Position Summary

Little Island seeks a Finance Coordinator to join the team.Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Finance, this role is a key player in payroll, bookkeeping, and reconciliation of a fast-paced non-profit organization. A successful candidate will demonstrate good judgement, has the ability and curiosity to learn new skills, and has experience supporting the bookkeeping and payroll processes for a non-profit. They are efficient, extremely detail-oriented, and are excited about working for a dynamic public space and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000
  • Job Type: Full-Time Year-Round
  • Schedule Expectations: Traditional Monday-Friday office hours
  • Projected Start Date: ASAP

Roles & Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • In partnership with the Assistant Manager of Finance, process payroll for all full-time and part-time employees in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform bookkeeping tasks across the organization, including tracking the organization’s food and beverage, ticketing sales and other future revenue
  • Assist the Assistant Manager of Finance with the weekly accounts payable process, including tasks such as organizing and processing invoices, compiling check packages, and handling files with discretion
  • Complete timely organization-wide expense reconciliations including credit card, employee reimbursement, and office petty cash
  • Assist with the organization’s internal monthly close process
  • Maintain all financial documentation and record keeping
  • Provide support during the annual audit
  • Provide clear communication and collaboration with all other departments in payroll processing and credit card reconciliation
  • Other duties and tasks related to the park and its operations as assigned

What You Bring

  • 1-3 years of experience in processing payroll. Experience as a non-profit bookkeeper preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP compliance, accounts payable principles, and general math
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and some experience using proprietary accounting software
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct a plus
  • High level of accountability and discretion
  • A spirit of hospitality when collaborating with and supporting employees on behalf of the Finance department
  • Ability to recognize and make suggestions for process improvements
  • Ability to work in US
  • A genuine interest and investment to contribute to our culture of camaraderie and excellence by collaborating and problem-solving cross-departmentally
  • Passion for engaging with visitors and guests, ensuring they feel welcome and have the information they need in service to a memorable visitor experience

  • Park employees will spend time onsite at Little Island working in outdoor weather conditions, navigating the entire park multiple times a day, and interacting with park visitors to ensure operations are running effectively.
