About Our Organization

Comprised of a dedicated team of passionate professional photographers and educators, led by the vision of founder Diana Kahrim, we aim to provide access to the art of photography for children across all five boroughs of New York City. Established in 2021 with a mission of giving back to the community.

Partnering with schools, after-school programs, shelters, and various organizations, we provide both mirrorless and DSLR cameras to children, aiming to ignite their creativity and foster their artistic expression. At Kids With Cameras, every student leaves each semester with their own portfolio of photographs they have taken, a testament to their growth and accomplishment.

Job Position Summary

Kids With Cameras is seeking a Digital Photography Teacher for a contract role. As a Digital Photography Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching high school aged students about the fundamentals of digital photography including camera operation, light, composition, and editing techniques. You will lead engaging lessons, provide constructive feedback, inspire creativity, and help students to develop their skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1.   Lesson Planning & Delivery: 
    • Deliver engaging lessons on digital photography tailored to high school students.
    • Teach fundamental principles of photography.
    • Guide students in developing their photography skills through hands-on practice and projects.
    • Provide constructive feedback on students’ work, helping them refine their techniques and creative vision.
  1.   Creative Inspiration:
    • Encourage and inspire students to explore their creativity through photography.
    • Introduce students to various genres of photography and the work of renowned photographers.
  1.   Classroom Management: 
    • Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
    • Ensure that students are engaged and focused during lessons and activities.
  1.   Equipment Management:
    • Assist students in using DSLR cameras and other photography equipment provided by Kids With Cameras.
    • Ensure the proper care and handling of all equipment during classes.
