Education for Sharing (E4S) is an international nonprofit organization. Its mission is to form better global citizens from childhood through educational innovation based on the power of play. E4S’s programs cover many subjects that are often not found in traditional education. The E4S model promotes social-emotional learning, civic values such as gender equality, responsibility, teamwork, fair play, tolerance, empathy and respect.
E4S also promotes awareness of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and proposes solutions to these challenges from the local communities we work with.
Job Position Summary
The ideal candidate will join E4S at a very exciting time of expansion in the US. The Development Officer will be a self-motivated, entrepreneurial development professional, and organized, with a proven ability to network among fundraising circles in New York, as well as nationally.
We are looking for someone who believes in the Education for Sharing mission and will demonstrate an exceptional drive to further our existing fundraising efforts and help strategize and deliver new ones. Working closely with the CEO and Board the Development Officer will be a frontline fundraiser responsible for leading major gift strategies from identification through stewardship.
Roles & Responsibilities
Objectives of this Role
– Plan fundraising initiatives to help the organization meet financial goals•Promote awareness of the organization’s mission and work
– Cultivate a network of dedicated donors and volunteers
– Spot new fundraising opportunities and pursue them
– Lead conversations with potential donors
– Form strong relationships with external stakeholders
– Ensure major donors are satisfied and kept in the loop
– Lead the reporting efforts with current donors
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
– Research individuals, private and public foundations, corporations, government entities and organizations that may be interested in gift-giving or matching programs
– Effectively convey the organization’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors and maintain in-depth knowledge of fundraising priorities
– Oversee the preparation of briefings, gift agreements, and other correspondence for prospects
– Identify potential cross-fundraising opportunities between E4S USA and other global chapters
– Attend meetings and networking events on behalf of the organization
– Craft grant applications, fundraising proposals, and overall communications with prospective donors
– Develop and maintain a stewardship process with current and prospective donors
– Strategize and successfully execute fundraising campaigns
– Organize fundraising events while overseeing teams of volunteers
– Manage a budget and track whether goals are being met•Manage a calendar of grant proposals, reporting and keep track of activities in a fundraising pipeline
Skills and Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, public relations, or a related field, a Master’s is strongly preferred
– Proven success at fundraising by designing and implementing strategic development plans and closing gifts ($50K+) from individuals, foundations and corporations.
– A minimum of four years’ fundraising, sales, or marketing experience with a proven track record of writing grant proposals, press releases, and/or fundraising letters•Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
– Ability to lead and motivate colleagues and volunteers
– Strong attention to detail
– A passion for research
– Adept at managing tasks, planning events, and balancing priorities
– Competence in Google Suite and donor management systems, preferablySalesforce.
– A strong interest in education
Preferred Qualifications
– Certificate in Fundraising, Diploma in Fundraising, or similar qualification
– Confidence with public speaking
– Legal or accounting experience a plus
– Familiarity with LATAM organizations
– Working knowledge of Spanish
