Job Position Summary
Queens Museum seeks a well-organized Development Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the Development Department across all capacity-building initiatives. The Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the Salesforce donor database, processing acknowledgment letters, gifts, and memberships, conducting prospect research, and supporting special events. The Development Assistant reports to the Individual Giving and Events Manager and works closely with all members of the Development team.
Roles & Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Manage the donor database, update donor records, record and process gifts and other income, and conduct regular audits of data
- Draft timely acknowledgments for donors
- Provide broad and general administrative support (e.g. scheduling, meeting agendas, and minutes)
- Assist the Development Team in planning all fundraising events, including the Annual Gala
- Support and attend donor engagement and cultivation events
- Assist with large mailings and other fundraising and communications campaigns
- Assist the Development Team with grants, proposals and reports, including document gathering and additional writing as needed
- Assist with planning and coordination of space rentals and other external special events
- Help with membership fulfillment and the Museum’s Adopt-a-Building program

Qualifications
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems (Salesforce/Veevart preferred)
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, and work independently and as part of a team on multiple concurrent projects
- Dedication to quality control and attention to detail
Requirements
- Prior work experience in nonprofit fundraising or administration (including internships and work-study programs)
- Availability to work onsite at the Queens Museum on nights and weekends as needed
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace, and CRM/fundraising databases (Salesforce/Veevart preferred)
