Job Position Summary

Roles & Responsibilities

Serve as the Deputy Director of Learning and Audience Engagement:

  • Works in partnership with the Director of Learning and Audience Engagement to oversee the learning and audience engagement goals of the institution.
  • Conceptualizes goals for initiatives, develops efficient workflow processes, ensures audience is the focus of all that we do, and aids in creating a healthy positive working environment for the department.
  • Assists the Director of Learning and Audience Engagement in coordinating and directing the LAE team, which includes program and initiative responsibilities.
  • Presents complex museum education concepts and ideas and to demonstrate extensive teaching methods cogently before assembled groups.
  • Stays abreast of the latest conversations in design and design education and speaks to key stakeholders such as local and national partners; trustees and funders.
  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work, assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignment and the subordinate’s capabilities and evaluates completed work.
