Job Position Summary

New York City Center’s Education & Community Engagement team is growing to include a Community Engagement Associate, a part-time role that supports the expansion of City Center’s community engagement programming. The Associate is expected to demonstrate an interest in collaboratively building community and belonging through educational arts programming, both in and around NYC and at City Center. They are responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of community programs, including coordinating workshop logistics, supporting on-site event management, and making community site visits. The Community Engagement Associate is expected to demonstrate a passion for community engagement and educational arts programming while supporting City Center’s mission and our commitment to being an anti-racist organization.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics for community programs including scheduling and attending planning meetings with community partners, setting teaching artist schedules, maintaining partner programming records, reserving studios, preparing supplementary materials, and other related program planning.
  • Assist in the organization and implementation of on-site programming, including workshops, community nights, student matinees, professional developments & community days.
  • Assist with tracking contracts, payment, and invoicing for community programs.
  • Arrange ticketing for community events & invited dress rehearsals.
  • Support development, design and creation of community-related publications including e-blasts, flyers, surveys, presentations, registration, newsletters, etc.
  • Observe Programming and support Teaching Artist assessment through community site visits throughout the year.
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned
