About Our Organization

Circle Up! Youth Restorative Justice Arts, known as The Circle Keepers, is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit dedicated to dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline by empowering middle and high school students to become socially-conscious artists and community organizers that use the intersection of of restorative justice, arts and activism to bring awareness to issues of systemic injustices that affect them in hopes to amplify messages of peace, justice, and belonging for all in their schools and beyond.

Job Position Summary

The Circle Keepers seeks abolitionist–visioned, kind-hearted & social-justice-minded restorative justice practitioners, musicians, composers, facilitators, dancers, beatmakers, singers, poets, digital arts, photographers, film makers and other creatives to join our Teaching Artist roster!

As a Circle Keepers TA, you will facilitate residencies and workshops during school hours (8:30am-3:30pm), during after school hours (3pm-6pm) or on Saturdays (10am-5pm).

Performers, culture bearers, college students, recent graduates and folks from traditionally marginalized communities are encouraged to apply! *The Circle Keepers is committed to developing our TA’s capacity & growth!

As a Teaching Artist, you will work directly with youth, guiding them to develop their artistic skills while fostering critical thinking, self-expression, and community engagement. You will get direct coaching and development support from our our leadership team, who have over 20 years of experience in artivist and restorative justice education.

COMPENSATION:

$40 per hour (co-teaching)
$50 per hour (teaching alone)
$20 for planning sessions.
