WR Arts provides quality performing arts enrichment education in a safe and supportive environment throughout the Williamsburg/Greenpoint area in afternoon programs including In School & Studio settings. WR Arts strives to support Northern Brooklyn’s diverse communities, bridging cultures through the performing arts. Job Position Summary

WR Arts is looking to hire Teaching Assistants to help and support our teaching artists and instructors implement dance programming. We’re looking for passionate and reliable people who want to grow and cultivate a career in Arts Education. Our teacher’s assistants are key to our success and help after school programs run smoothly. We need people with the ability to pivot quickly, take direction and work as a team player.

A little about you: You’re an individual who is passionate about arts education and wants hands-on experience working in arts programs and after school programming. You have dance and/or Theater arts training and experience. You’re comfortable working with younger students (3K and Pre-k is a plus!) We’re looking for individuals who have the ability to adapt and be flexible in a studio or classroom setting.

Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent alternative. 
  • 1 year prior teaching experience in school, studio settings or childcare experience. 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organized, responsive and punctual. 
  • Must be available at least 2 weekdays (M-F) between 2-6PM 
  • Proof of Covid vaccination

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist our teaching artist staff to ensure quality lessons and classroom standards are met. 
  • Help create a welcoming and safe learning environment.
  • Actively participate in class: demonstrating and hands on with the students.
  • Assist in after school pick up and dismissals.
