Actionplay is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing autistic, neurodivergent, and disabled teens and adults with equal access to the theatremaking process. Actionplay’s flagship program, AIMS, creates original musical theatre pieces about the unique interests and passions of our performers in a supportive space.

Job Position Summary

Actionplay, a neuroinclusive theatre nonprofit, is looking for an Administrative Associate to help us achieve our mission: providing autistic, neurodivergent, and disabled high schoolers and adults with equal access to the theatremaking process. The Administrative Associate will assist the Executive Director and Director of Programs to meet current and upcoming benchmarks in programming, budgeting, and marketing. The Administrative Associate would work a total of 25 hours per month; salary is $30/hour, or $750/hour, for a total of $9000/year.

Roles & Responsibilities

Job duties:

  • Assisting the Executive Director in preparing for board meetings
  • Creating monthly account reports and bookkeeping reviews
  • Working with the Treasurer on monthly account reconciliation
  • Preparing and organizing Budget Proposals with the Executive Director
  • Preparing and organizing program and event proposals with the Director of Programs and Executive Director
  • Preparing and organizing grant proposals with our Grants Consultant
  • Creating and organizing accessible analog and digital programs/events calendar with the Director of Programs
  • Organizing and creating contracts for hiring new positions, in conjunction with the Director of Programs
  • Creating monthly Mailchimp email blasts
  • Updating website, Facebook, and Instagram with 2-3 weekly posts
  • Streamlining Google Drive and other records management systems to create greater organization/access, in conjunction with the Director of Programs and Executive Director
  • Designing and implementing fundraising pages through GiveLively, Flipcause, and other platforms

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • One year of administrative experience in theatre, arts, education, nonprofits, or relevant fields
  • Experience on multiple platforms: Google Suite, Mailchimp, Meta Business Suite (Facebook/Instagram), Microsoft Office
  • Passionate about working with the autistic / neurodivergent / disabled community

Preferred qualifications:

  • A member of the autistic / neurodivergent / disabled community
  • Graphic design experience
  • Photography experience
  • WordPress experience
