The Broadway League is the national trade association for the Broadway industry. Our 600‐plus members include theatre owners and operators, producers, presenters, and general managers in North American cities, as well as suppliers of goods and services to the commercial theatre industry. Each year, League members bring Broadway to more than 30 million people in New York and more than 200 cities across the U.S. and Canada.
Job Position Summary
The Manager of Audience Engagement will report to the Director of Audience Engagement, working in the Broadway League’s offices in Midtown Manhattan from 9:30am to 5:30pm. This is a full-time position.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Jimmy Awards
- Year-round point-of-contact for 40+ Regional Awards Program managers and staff
- Donor relations (solicitations, payment processing, benefit fulfillment, tax letters)
- Ceremony ticketing (seating chart, house seats, VIP Pre-Show Reception tickets, After-Party tickets, box office correspondence, front of house duties at will-call table)
- Management of Acceptd audition and application platform used for nominee materials collection and the adjudication process
- Tracking program expenses/income and end-of-year budget reconciliation
- Playbill content collection and layout
- Music licensing correspondence and paperwork
- Gift bag and t-shirt coordination for Jimmy Awards nominees and chaperones
- Oversee staff/volunteer assignments and various ceremony details
- Travel and hospitality coordination
- General liaison between League departments, creative and production team members, and other program constituentsDepartment Administration
- Audience Engagement Committee and Task Force coordination (in-person and virtual meeting set-up, Town Hall calls, attendance tracking, minutes)
- Assist with annual Education and Engagement Forum planning and execution
- Assist with High School Broadway Shadowing Program planning and execution
- Careers.Broadway updates, maintenance, and research
- Internship Program coordination (recruitment, candidate correspondence and coordinating interviews, securing references, onboarding, oversight of schedules, timesheets, and seminars)
- Foundation donation correspondence and tracking
- Ongoing program-related surveys and research to quantify impact and value
- General assistance and support at League events, conferences, and meetings
A successful applicant will have:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong writing, speaking and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and collaborate in a fast-paced environment
- Expertise and agility in Microsoft Word and Excel and online resources
- Passion for arts education in schools and knowledge of the Jimmy AwardsBenefits:
