The NYC Arts in Education Roundtable is thrilled to welcome Dominic back to help Teaching Artists navigate tax season. He will share general tax and money advice and take time to address specific questions from registrants as we tackle yet another unique tax season. Topics during this session will include:

  • Specific pitfalls to watch out for as freelancers
  • Exemptions
  • Deductions, especially those that pertain to teaching from home
  • W4 and W2 forms
  • Independent contractor income
  • Saving and investing for retirement
  • Budgeting

  • Audits, and more!

About Dominic

Dominic Comperatore is the founder of Empire Tax Prep, specializing in taxes for performers and artists. As a licensed tax preparer registered in both New York and California, as well as being a working actor in film, television and theater, he brings an intimate knowledge of the issues particular to artists when dealing with the IRS.  He maintains a bi-coastal clientele and is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA.
