Founded in 1969, Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA) is the leading legal aid and education organization dedicated to New York artists and its arts and cultural organizations. VLA strives to protect the artistic community’s livelihoods, businesses, and creative works through access to dedicated legal representation and focused innovative education programs.

SESSION INFORMATION
FACILITATOR INFORMATION
Rachel Feingold is an associate at Virginia & Ambinder, LLP and concentrates her practice on a wide variety of labor and employment matters, helping clients recover unpaid wages and damages for sexual harassment, retaliation, and discrimination based on gender, age, race, national origin, disability, sexual orientation and religion. Additionally, Rachel represents a number of freelance artists seeking to recover payment from hiring parties.
Amy Lehman graduated from University of Michigan Law School, where she served as president of the Entertainment, Media and Arts Law Students Association.
Prior to joining Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, Amy practiced in New York as a commercial litigator, and advised clients in non-profit corporate compliance. She is a trained mediator, running VLA’s MediateArt program, and is now on the panel of mediators assigned to resolve cases for the Southern District of New York.
Amy is a member of the Entertainment Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association and was selected to Super Lawyers Rising Stars 2014, 2016, 2017 and New York Metro Super Lawyers 2018-2022.
Laura Levin-Dando, VLA’s Staff Attorney, advises clients on a range of issues including contracts, copyright and trademark matters, and corporate governance. Laura also teaches and facilitates VLA’s educational programs. Laura received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
Michele Moreno joined V&A as an associate in November 2015, having previously served as a legal assistant from September 2014 to October 2015. Michele concentrates her practice in a wide variety of labor and employment matters, including recovery of unpaid minimum wages, overtime wages, prevailing wages and supplemental benefits, as well as sexual harassment, retaliation, and discrimination based on gender, age, race, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, and religion.
