As the Roundtable and its committees wrap up the year and look toward summer, the Taskforce on Equity and Inclusion (TEI) is thrilled to host a gathering for our community to connect and celebrate the work done by all of YOU across the boroughs.
Join us for an ice cream social at Sugar Hill Creamery’s location in the Dumbo Time Out Market. Members of the Roundtable’s Taskforce on Equity and Inclusion will be present to share about their committee work at the organization, and to offer an opportunity for community members to connect, catch up, and share feedback on how the Roundtable can best support you and your work. Plus, the first 75 single-scoops are on the Roundtable! Vegan, nut free, and non-dairy options will be available.
Accessibility
The NYC Arts in Education Roundtable is committed to making our programming accessible for all community members. The Time Out Market is wheelchair-accessible, and the 5th-floor and rooftop can be accessed from the outside stairs as well as via two elevators (one located inside the first floor of Empire Stores and the other just outside, off the entrance facing the East River).
If you have accommodation requests to attend this event, please submit them at least two weeks in advance. Requests submitted after that time may not be addressed. Thank you for directing all communication to our Programs Director, Kinsey Keck, at kkeck@nycaieroundtable.org.
About Sugar Hill Creamery
Sugar Hill Creamery is a love affair between community and food. Dedicated to local collaborations and the best ingredients, they serve handmade, small batch ice cream and non-dairy frozen desserts, with both seasonal and classic flavors available year around. Many of the available flavors are inspired by our Caribbean and Midwestern cultures, as well as Harlem, our neighborhood of more than 15 years. Sugar Hill Creamery now has five locations, from Harlem to The Met.
The shop was an idea brought upon by the ‘sweet life’ that so many generations in Sugar Hill sought. As long time Harlem residents, co-owners Petrushka Bazin Larsen and Nick Larsen dreamt of this ‘sweet life’ while living on St. Nicholas Ave and 148th Street. For over a century, Sugar Hill and Harlem have set high bars. for artistry, literature, music and food in New York. Sugar Hill Creamery plans to keep the same standard and will continue to promote all that Harlem has and will continue to create.
