Teaching Artist Project (TAP) is a comprehensive jobs training and internship program for working artists who desire to incorporate social justice and social emotional learning into their teaching practice. Our program is committed to the professional development of teaching artists through a social justice methodology that translates creative process into educational practice. TAP entails a transformative 8 month curriculum that also provides a supervised on-the-job experience.
About Materials for the Arts

Materials for the Arts (MFTA) provides NYC arts nonprofits, public schools and city agencies with access to free materials. We strive to keep valuable materials from entering the landfill and put these materials into the hands of arts professionals, educators and students across the five boroughs. We give unwanted items the opportunity to become something new through Creative Reuse, inspired education and unlimited imagination. Better than new; it’s renewed.
Accessibility
The NYC Arts in Education Roundtable is committed to providing opportunities for everyone to participate in our programming. Materials for the Arts is an ADA-compliant accessible venue with ramp and elevator access. If you have accommodation requests, please submit them at least one week in advance of the event date.
