The NYC Public Schools’ Division of Contracts and Purchasing on behalf of the Arts Office will be hosting a live information session on Multiple Task Award Contracts (“MTAC”) for arts education service providers. The workshop will offer an opportunity to learn about the scope of services being sought via R1129 and R1180 contracts, procedures and resources for applying for an MTAC, and time for Q&A.
This information session will be led by:
- Joy Gentolia, Director, Instructional Service Procurement, Division of Contracts & Purchasing, NYC Department of Education
- Bryan Hester, Associate Director, Instructional Service Procurement, Division of Contracts & Purchasing, NYC Department of Education
What is an MTAC?
MTAC contracts enable arts and cultural vendors to partner with public schools on contracts over $25,000. Non-contracted arts vendors have an overall cap of $25,000 of business they can do with a given school. The arts vendor can have individual projects within the school, but the projects total cannot exceed $25,000 (for non-contracted vendors). After $25,000, vendors will need an MTAC (Multiple Task Award Contract) to partner with schools.
The Roundtable has provided descriptions below of the two MTAC contract types to be addressed during the session:
R1180: Professional Learning Services for Arts Education
NYC Public Schools seeks providers of professional learning services for arts education. Professional learning services for arts education will support NYCPS teachers and administrators in successfully implementing standards-based arts education as outlined in the New York City curriculum Blueprints for Teaching and Learning in the Arts as well as provide services that will support teaching and learning in the various art forms: visual arts, dance, music, theater, and the moving image. NYCPS is also seeking proposals from individuals and/or organizations able to provide services to help schools address and overcome the barriers to providing arts education which include budgeting, instructional programming, and scheduling.
- Component 1 — Standards-Based Professional Learning Services for Arts Education
- Component 2 — Instructional Planning or Assessment Support Services
There is no fee for this MTAC. Login to the Vendor Portal to download MTAC R1180.
R1129: Arts Education Services
NYC Public Schools, on behalf of the Arts Office, seeks proposals from organizations experienced in providing high quality arts education services for students in grades pre-kindergarten to 12 with optional related Professional Development and/or Parent Engagement Services.
- Component A – Direct Student Services with optional related Professional Development Services.
- Component B – Parent Engagement Services.
The purpose of this MTAC is to continue to provide services that affect the advancement of teaching and learning in visual arts, the performing arts (dance, music, theater) and the moving image, for students who participate within the various programs. These offerings may include accompanying professional development planning and/or evaluation sessions as an addition to the delivery of the primary arts services for students. The inclusion of these additional types of services will enable schools to optimize value for the benefit of their students’ achievement in the arts and to allow the services to have meaningful impact on classroom practice and schools’ curriculum goals. Vendors should identify and include program models that have proven to work best with students.
There is no fee for this MTAC. Login to the Vendor Portal to download MTAC R1129. If you cannot download this MTAC, please send an e-mail to VendorHotline@schools.nyc.gov with the MTAC number and title in the subject.
