Join the NYC Arts in Education Roundtable and partners from arts education organizations across the city for this working session dedicated to improving Teaching Artist (TA) compensation in NYC.

The Roundtable is committed to continuing the conversation on Teaching Artist and arts education workforce sustainability and leveraging its research published in its 2025 Paying for Professionalism Report on New York City Teaching Artist Compensation and Employment to move the needle forward on TA pay practices.

Join us for this in-person arts administrators working group featuring case studies from three organizations of various sizes doing work in our communities — Roundabout Theatre Company, Lotus Music & Dance, and City Lore. Representatives will share their current compensation models, promotion structures, successes and challenges they’re experiencing, and will lead attendees in generative breakout discussions centered on action items and next steps that they can turnkey at their own organizations. 

PLEASE NOTE: this working group is geared toward administrators working at arts and culture organizations that employ Teaching Artists.

Due to limited capacity, this event is currently open to members of the NYC Arts in Education Roundtable and up to two representatives per organization.
