Calling all teachers, artists, advocates, school administrators, cultural workers, arts leaders, parents, and arts education champions! Join the NYC Arts in Education Roundtable in rallying to address the cost-of-living crisis for our workforce.
The arts are the heartbeat of New York City. Dance, theater, music, media, visual arts, and literary arts are a vital engine for NYC’s economy, cultural identity, and a critical component of a culturally-responsive education.
Yet, the skyrocketing cost of living, bureaucratic hurdles in contracting, and chronic inequities in access are stifling our City’s most vital resource — leaving our students and our creative workforce behind.
To sustain this vibrant ecosystem, we must prioritize affordability, ensuring educators and artists can afford to live and work in the city they inspire. The Mayor, Chancellor and City Council have a window of opportunity to define our city’s future: that starts with the arts.

Meeting Location
We will be meeting on the steps of City Hall. We recommend entering at the City Hall gates located on Broadway and Murray. When you arrive, let security know you are attending a rally on the steps.
When visiting City Hall to attend the rally, please come prepared to enter through security and metal detectors. We recommend arriving by 10:15am; the rally will start promptly at 10:30am.
