We’re proud to announce the launch of the new NYC Arts in Education Roundtable website. We’ve worked for more than a year to develop a site that is more accessible, user-friendly, and values-driven.
What Inspired the Change?
It’s been a long time since we’ve redesigned our website and our goal was to create a user experience that was more inviting, engaging, and informative. Given the amount of resources and information that we share, one of our top priorities was making sure that you can more easily explore the website and find what exactly what you’re looking for.
We surveyed the field, heard back from almost 100 community members, and convened an ad hoc committee comprised of representatives from our Board of Directors, Communications Committee, and Membership Committee. Their combined feedback guided our process so that we could better align the new site with our community’s interests and needs.
What’s New?
In addition to a bold new aesthetic, we’ve reorganized the website to make it easier to stay up-to-date on the latest news impacting the field, find current resources, and advocate on behalf of arts in education. You can now more easily view our webinar recordings and access curricula designed to meet the needs of your students. And we’ve also worked to ensure that our site is as accessible to as many people as possible, intentionally testing the site for users who identify as having disabilities.
- A free, searchable Resource Center with access to relevant research studies, specially commissioned non-profit and arts education glossaries, resources from past Roundtable events, grant opportunities, and the ability to suggest new resources.
- An updated community Jobs Board featuring salary requirements and job post guidelines to promote equity and transparency in the hiring process.
- A webinar gallery featuring recordings of past professional developments, advocacy testimonials, and curriculum videos.
- A mobile-friendly format with built-in access tools compatible with desktop, smart phones and tablets.
- A streamlined Advocacy Hub that highlights current campaigns happening within our city and arts in education community.
We still have a few new features to roll out over the next few months, but we encourage you to explore and share the new site with your friends and colleagues.
