From Our Friends at DYCD: Summer Connections — Partnership Interest Questionnaire & Virtual Resource Fair

As schools, CBOs, and Summer Rising sites plan for summer 2023 programming, the Roundtable believes it is imperative that arts and culture opportunities are available for our city’s young people. Over the past few months, we’ve been working with DYCD to brainstorm ways that arts organizations and individual teaching artists can be better connected with potential summer-time partners.

If you are interested in partnering with CBO or Summer Rising site(s) on workshops, residencies, or field trips, please take a moment to complete the 10-minute questionnaire linked below. Those that complete this questionnaire will have their program information shared with potential Summer Rising/CBO partners and will have the opportunity to participate in a Virtual Summer Resource Fair hosted by DYCD on Wednesday, May 17th.

Dear Roundtable Community,

NYC Department of Youth & Community Development (NYC DYCD) is hosting Summer Connections: A Virtual Resource Fair on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 10am until 2pm.

  • Who is targeted? The event targets Directors and Supervisors of Summer Rising camps, and other DYCD-funded summer camps.
  • What is the goal of the virtual resource fair? The goal is to connect Directors and Supervisors of Summer Rising camps, and other DYCD-funded summer camps with resource organizations/individual consultants who are interested in being subcontractors.
  • Who can participate in the virtual resource fair? (1) Organizations and individual consultants who provide programming for youth. (2) Organizations/places that summer campers can visit on trips; e.g. theatre, urban farm/garden, museum, etc.
  • How do you indicate an interest in participating? Complete the questionnaire via the link below.
  • How much time will it take to complete the questionnaire? The questionnaire will take about 15 minutes to complete.

NOTE: Info you provide in the questionnaire will also be shared with Directors and Supervisors of DYCD funded youth programs.

  • Summer Rising camps Elementary level: July 5 – August 18
  • Summer Rising camps Middle School level: July 5 – August 11
  • Other non-Summer Rising DYCD funded summer camps: July 5 – August 26

In early May, you will receive invitations with registration links to the following:

  • A virtual Info Session on DYCD’s subcontracting process. This will be held the week before the Resource Fair.
  • A virtual training session on BRAZEN, the online platform that is hosting the virtual resource event. This will also be held the week before the resource fair.
