Alexandra López has worked as a theater director, producer and educator. She joined Lincoln Center Theater’s Education Program in 2008. As Associate Director of Education at LCT, Ms. López devises and implements performance-based curriculum for NYC students with a team of teaching artists and plans professional development workshops for teachers. She administers the High School Program, the Shakespeare Program, and the Songwriting in the Schools Program and supports the Learning English and Drama (LEAD) Project.
Previously, Ms. López was the Coordinator of the Paul A. Kaplan Center for Educational Drama where she administered graduate level courses for NYU students and NYC teachers and produced the New York City Student Shakespeare Festival. She also worked as a teaching artist for the Creative Arts Team, NJPAC, and the Wolf Trap Institute with students in New York and New Jersey and was a drama teacher and theater director at The Brearley School and the Bank Street School for Children. For six years, she served on the conference planning committee and co-chaired Theatre In Our Schools (TIOS), the American Alliance for Theatre in Education regional conference.Ms. López was the co-chair of LCT’s Anti-Bias Anti-Racism Committee and is a trustee of the Children’s Theatre Foundation of America. She serves on Board of the NYC Arts in Education Roundtable and is co-chair of the 2023 Face to Face conference.
