Theodore Wiprud

Theodore Wiprud, composer, educator, and former Vice President, Education, at the New York Philharmonic, joined the Board in 2005 and is now Chair Emeritus, having served as Co-Chair from 2011-2018. Currently, Ted serves as Music Alive Composer-in-Residence with the South Dakota Symphony, and works with clients to plan and execute educational programming.  At the Philharmonic, Ted hosted the iconic Young People’s Concerts and led a large set of educational initiatives.  Earlier in his career, he was Director of Education and Community Engagement at the Brooklyn Philharmonic, and developed educational programming at the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and the American Composers Orchestra.
