On Tuesday August 12, 2014, Arts in Education Roundtable Co-Chair Kati Koerner will co-present the #EduTues weekly education twitter chat with Roundtable member organization Queens Museum.
#EduTues is Queens Museum’s weekly series about arts education and museum education topics. The series is an opportunity to read what people are saying and to join the conversation. Previous topics have included how to use technology to grown and explore arts education; exploring ways museums can reach multilingual audiences, and how arts experiences can help students see/perceive in a new way.
This week’s topic is the DOE’s recently announced expansion of arts education programs and our hopes and possibilities with this new energy and momentum on arts in education. Read more about these developments here.
Kati Koerner, Director of Education at Lincoln Center Theater, speaking about the announcement, said: “Many people had a hand in making this happen – most significantly, a mayor who spoke during his campaign about the importance of arts education; a schools chancellor who believes in arts ed; and a well-timed Comptroller’s report that echoed the mayor’s “tale of two cities.”
Join the conversation at #EduTues, from 1-4pm on Tuesday 11th. See you there!
