The Center for Educational Innovation (CEI), a national not-for-profit educational organization that works with district schools and public charter schools, is seeking to fill the positions of Teaching Artists for the Visual Arts.

CEI’s Arts Education program focuses on the visual arts and serves NYC K-12 schools citywide, providing (1) professional development workshops, coaching and modeling to teachers, (2) parent/family engagement activities, and (3) student arts residencies.

Job Summary:

CEI is seeking experienced teaching artists in the visual arts (painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, graphic novels, puppets, etc.) to work with NYC K-12 public school students. teachers and parents – to conduct workshops and long-term art residencies. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree, be practicing artists, and have more than 2-3 years of experience teaching art to K-12 students in a classroom setting. Candidates must have expertise in creating curricula, writing lesson plans, and teaching art projects that directly address academic subjects. Candidates should also have strong organizational and classroom-management skills, must be willing to travel to multiple boroughs, and be available for work during the school day.

·        Excellent organizational skills
