Brooklyn College Community Partnership (BCCP) facilitates interdisciplinary, out-of-school-time programs throughout Brooklyn to serve over 1200 youth from middle to high school. We have been based in the Psychology department at Brooklyn College for over twenty years and support a relationship-building and asset-based approach to youth development. Our programs offer academic support, college prep, arts, health and wellness, social justice and STE(A)M. BCCP currently runs 6 in-school sites and two at Brooklyn College Art Lab (BCAL), a 7,000 sq. ft., youth-dedicated arts and technology site at Brooklyn College that includes two recording studios, a digital maker lab, fashion studio, kitchen lab, gymnasium and large multi-purpose spaces. BCCP is offering an open call to hire artists and/or teaching artists in all media. Interdisciplinary artists and artists with a social justice mindset are strongly preferred. Teaching experience preferred, but not required. All candidates must: be able to facilitate a learning experience in a drop-in environment; be willing to focus on relationship-building parallel to instructional support; be willing to travel in and to central Brooklyn (1 hour from Union Square; be interested and able to work with middle school and high school students and be able to assist with homework and other responsibilities if asked.
