Artist's Studio, New York



Prominent artist based in New York and Berlin seeks full-time studio manager. The position is Monday through Friday with occasionally weekends depending on travel/exhibition schedule. Candidate must be able to handle various projects simultaneously. Maintaining both a big picture and fine detail view of projects and schedules is imperative. Previous work in an artist’s studio, gallery or museum preferred. Responsibilities: – Maintaining studio and production calendars – Scheduling interviews, travel and requests for artist – Archive management – Email correspondence – Maintenance of daily, weekly, and long-term work schedules – Organization of printing and framing – Liaising with galleries and museums for exhibitions – Coordinating shipping and installation schedules. – Handling image requests and keeping on top of payment schedules – Management of studio accounts and billing – Provide general office help as needed in fast-paced, diverse environment. – An active approach to problem-solving is essential. – Work closely with small studio team to ensure studio is operating effectively – Maintain contact database with studio and personal contacts – Sort and process mail/ email, respond in timely and professional manner. – Maintains organized digital and physical storage. – Produce detailed itineraries for travel and daily Efficient verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, advanced knowledge of studio software, proven leadership skills and ability to meet deadlines in a stressful environment, whilst motivating a team with a wide variety of skill sets. She/he must also be able to think outside the box, have meticulous attention to detail and possess problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is Extremely organized and focused, takes initiative, excels working independently and within a team. Has strong clear written and verbal communication skills Skills: – Exceptional written and verbal skills, editing and proofing skills. – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Takes initiative and excels working independently and within a team – Strong communication, direct and clear both written and verbal – Sees projects through while flexible with day-to-day duties – Proficiency in: Photoshop, InDesign, Mac Office Suite, File transfer systems, and image processing. – Calm and focused under pressure – Flexible schedule, willing to take on a range of tasks, big and small – Extremely organized and focused – Discreet with sensitive and confidential information
