The New School of Drama


The School of Drama seeks a mature, well-organized, collaborative individual to serve as Program Assistant. This individual works closely with the General Manager for the School of Drama, as well as the Program and Administration Manager. They are responsible for administrative program office support for all events and activities within the School of Drama at the College of Performing Arts.
This is an hourly year-round position that reports to the General Manager of the School of Drama.
Responsibilities: ● Manage calendars and schedules for Dean and Associate Dean of Drama ● Assist with expense processing and reconciliation ● Support travel planning and coordination for the Dean and Associate Dean of Drama ● Assist coordination of Drama curricular special events and curricular performance activities ● Liaise with the CoPA Manager of Communications on CoPA bulletin material, social media strategy and alumni events & news ● Create, prepare and assemble program office industry mailing materials and eblasts ● Assist with MFA and BFA showcase events including Industry showcase, Digital showcase, Writer showcase ● Coordinate departmental communication of announcements with students and faculty ● Maintain, update and disseminate Student Handbook information to current students ● Assist the Program and Administration Manager with Mainstage auditions ● Support the Production office with ticketing and the creation of Mainstage programs ● Participate in special projects, events, productions and performances throughout the year ● Assist with orientation, graduation, callback weekend and other student support events ● Manage faculty elections for committees and University Senate ● Compile and distribute curriculum committee and faculty meeting notes ● Coordinate the storage and distribution of student life and mainstage production photography ● Archive production posters ● Manage and assign Drama student lockers at Arnhold Hall and assist with project prop storage ● Act as lead on-site coordinator for Drama special events as assigned ● Occasional nights and weekends for project work ● Other duties as assigned
Requirements: ● Minimum 2 years relevant experience. ● Superior organizational, writing and interpersonal skills. ● Proficiency working with databases, MS Word and Excel. ● Demonstrated record of creative problem-solving and collaborative spirit. ● Ability to multitask and troubleshoot within a busy environment. ● Strong interest in working with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds. ● Work experience in professional theatre and theatre marketing is preferred.
