This position is open to all BFA graduates in fine art, or illustration, as well as current undergraduate/graduate students working toward their degree in Fine Art or Art Education. All applicants should be considering a possible career in art education. This is a great opportunity to learn sequential curriculum development as well as all aspects of classroom management. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist the lead instructor in Fine Art Classes and Camps • Maintain studio supplies and cleanliness • Uphold AIAVAP’s Teaching Philosophy and Fine Art Curriculum Goals • Some administrative tasks required. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: • BA or BFA in Fine Art, Illustration, and/or Art Education, or pending BFA graduates. • Have proficient fine art skills in drawing, and painting in a variety of dry and wet mediums. • Have some basic previous experience working with children and/or teens. No formal teaching experience necessary. • Polite and friendly manner when communicating with children, parents and guardians. • Take direction well. • Must be a team player. • Detail oriented and discrete professionalism a plus. • Must be available afternoons. • Must be flexible.
