The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, in Peekskill, NY located 1 hour north of Manhattan, is a museum focused on art exhibitions that include international emerging artists. Peekskill is a diverse community along the Hudson River. The center works closely with the local and regional schools in providing students at all age levels with teaching programs that foster strong educational skills through the arts. Our international artists in resident program brings in artists to live and work in Peekskill and participate in the education programs with an emphasis on intercultural dialogue. We seek an individual with demonstrated strong education skills in the arts, a creative person to design, administer and expand education initiatives in-school and in the museum. Must work effectively with students of all ages including seniors and work collaboratively with in-house staff and school art faculty. Education programs should connect art in the museum and being made by artists in residence to the teaching programming. There should be evaluations to determine the effectiveness and impact of the programs.
