Primary Stages seeks a dynamic, energetic, and dedicated professional for the part-time position of Student Services Associate for the Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA). The position will assist in day-to-day operations of ESPA, including class registration and payment plans, data management, and student services. Provides administrative support to ESPA, including processing all class registrations
and confirmations, payment processing, payment plans, payment reconciliation, faculty
contracts, audition scheduling, waitlist management, and other administrative duties.
Provide Student Support Services, including answering general inquiry emails and
calls, new semester communications, and customer service issues. Additionally, this
person will be the liaison to work study participants and our student body as a whole.
Assist with all ESPA events and collaborative programs (such as Detention, ESPA
Drills, and ESPAfest) and with Primary Stages events (such as Opening Nights and
Provides support for the management of our rehearsal studios and conference room to
ensure that we maximize our class schedules and rental opportunities.
Maintains the ESPA database.

Experience with NYC theater, Off-Broadway, and theater in general is preferred, but

Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, or commensurate experience.
Work is performed in an office environment and is mainly sedentary in nature. The job will include talking, sitting, hearing, and repetitive movement associated with keyboarding. Occasional evening and weekend hours to support education and institutional events, which happen at our office and off-site, are required.
Primary Stages is an Off-Broadway not-for-profit theater company dedicated to inspiring, supporting, and sharing the art of playwriting. Since our founding in 1984, we have produced more than 135 new plays and have garnered numerous awards and nominations. We have developed and produced work by A.R. Gurney, Theresa Rebeck,
Kate Hamill, Billy Porter, Charles Busch, Tanya Saracho, Sharon Washington, Horton Foote (including the Tony nominated Dividing the Estate), David Ives, Donald Margulies, Terrence McNally, and produced the original productions of In Transit (James Allen-Ford, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Russ Kaplan, and Sara Wordsworth), which transferred to Broadway in 2016, and Danai Gurira and Nikkole Salter’s In the Continuum, which went on to tour the U.S., Africa, and Scotland. Beyond our productions, Primary Stages supports playwrights and develops new works
through commissions, workshops, readings, and our education, access, and training programs such as the Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group, the Primary Plus Developmental reading series, the Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), Teenwrights, our Free Student Matinee Program, the Internship Program, TixTeen, PS35, and the Primary Stages Off-Broadway Oral History Project. Primary Stages ESPA is a school for emerging and established playwrights, actors, and directors. We offer classes in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, and our faculty is
made up of professional artists working in the field. Our focus is on nurturing, advocating, and honoring emerging artists by providing them developmental opportunities, space to write and rehearse, and a family of collaborators. Since our inception 11 years ago, we have been a home to over 3,000 artists.
This is a part-time, hourly position (approx. 20-25 hours per week), hourly rate
commensurate with experience.
