CITYarts, a public art non-profit Greenwich Village based organization, is looking for a dedicated, hard-working, organized and creative individual for the position of Assistant to the Director. The applicant must be deeply committed to non-profit arts administration and art education with a passion for CITYarts’ mission to bring youth and professional artists together to create public art, a creative process that empowers youth and connects children locally and around the world to become active participants in transforming communities. A career goal of growing in the field of non-profit arts administration is key – this full-time job has the potential for growth and a preferred 3 year commitment. RESPONSIBILITIES • Executive Assistance: Assist the Director with her daily appointments and plans • Office management and clerical support during regular office hours of 9:30-5:30pm M-F • Development and fundraising: Assisting with foundation research, write grants, process donations, act as liaison between CITYarts and donors • Public relations and press outreach: Assist with online and printed marketing materials • Special events and exhibition coordination • Coordination and supervision of interns and staff • Bookkeeping: Manage budgets, accounts receivables, expenses, and handle petty cash expenditures • Collaborate with Project Coordinator to plan and execute projects • Database and Server Management QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum of 2 years experience in administration and project management • Master’s Degree in Arts Administration, Non-profit Management, or similar field is a big plus • Commitment to a career in arts non-profit management • Ability to handle multiple tasks thoroughly and efficiently • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Organizational skills with attention to detail • Prior fundraising and development experience is a plus • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, & Constant Contact • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including a desire to learn; the ability to be flexible and proactive; and the ability to accept direction and work independently BENEFITS Starting salary $35-40,000, some flexibility based on experience 2 weeks (10 working days) accrued vacation May join in 403B Health Insurance to be discussed on an individual basis
