Artist Program Director
Fordham University

Fordham University is seeking a new Artistic Program Director for its distinguished undergraduate Theatre Program beginning July 2020.  The Program is based at Fordham’s Lincoln Center Campus in Manhattan. This is a tenure-track faculty position that will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor (or higher, commensurate with experience).  The candidate will become a leader, in collaboration with both tenured and non-tenured faculty members as well as production and administrative staff, in the evolution and implementation of a vision for the program that assures its preeminent standing in the field of undergraduate theatre training.

The successful candidate will be a prominent and active theatre artist with proven achievement in their field.  They will also have teaching and administrative experience, a proven ability to lead, and a demonstrable commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. Having experience with fundraising is also highly desirable.  We are particularly interested in someone with an expansive aesthetic, as our curriculum embraces a wide array of approaches, eras, and cultures.  As our student body grows increasingly diverse, experience and commitment to teaching and mentoring students from a range of economic, social, and cultural backgrounds is preferred.  We also highly value teaching and/or professional experience in traditions outside of Western theatre. An advanced degree in the field is required and/or its professional equivalent.
